Frankie Stolcke is a New York City-based photographer whose work explores themes of identity, community, and connection through a documentary and street photography lens. Raised in Hell’s Kitchen, she draws from her multicultural background—Ecuadorian, Jewish, German, and Korean—to inform a perspective rooted in the complexities of urban life.
Specializing in black-and-white photography, Stolcke uses the medium’s raw and timeless aesthetic to enhance the emotional depth of everyday moments. With a background in psychology, she explores the psychological undertones of her subjects, capturing moments of vulnerability, resilience, and joy with striking intimacy.
As a woman of color, she is committed to amplifying the voices of underrepresented communities and challenging traditional boundaries between observer and observed. She holds a degree in Psychology and Photography from Skidmore College, where she received a grant to pursue her ongoing NYC Court Culture project—an exploration of basketball’s role in shaping identity and belonging in public space. Stolcke is an alum of the BRIDGE x ASMP mentorship program and a member of Scope of Work (SOW). Her work has been exhibited at the Penumbra Foundation, The Holy Art Gallery, and Monad Agency, and featured in Vogue Philippines.
